Born into a large family in 1970, I often felt like an outsider. Childhood trauma left me grappling with the events that shaped my early years, leading to struggles with self-esteem and unhealthy coping mechanisms.

However, at the age of 50, I crossed paths with an incredible counselor who showed me that my past and circumstances didn't define my worth. After dedicating 25 years of my life to working at the Council, I made a life-altering decision to resign, with one heartfelt request to the divine: "God, use me as your instrument to aid others in any way you see fit."

Although I had initially planned to open a plus-size clothing store, it soon became evident that God had a different path in mind.

On October 1, 2021, Black Jasmine's doors swung open, and since then, my life has been filled with blessings beyond measure. Every day, I encounter remarkable individuals, and each client I meet enriches my life. My primary goal is to nurture every client's body, mind, and soul, fostering self-love and self-acceptance so they can embrace the beautiful person they truly are.

Maximizing your fat freeze results

Swelling and soreness are common side effects of Fat Freeze. Following the treatment, it's best to wear loose, soft clothing that minimizes pressure on the skin. Avoid tight-fitting garments like skinny jeans, which could exacerbate swelling, soreness, redness, and other discomforts.

Staying well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water is essential for overall health. In the context of Fat Freeze, adequate water intake accelerates the process of flushing out deceased fat cells.

Sustaining an ideal weight is crucial for maintaining the long-term results of Fat Freeze. Steer clear of foods that contribute to weight gain, such as sugary, carb-heavy, fried, and processed foods. Prioritize a diet rich in vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and lean proteins. Any weight gain can cause the remaining fat cells in your treated area to expand, potentially reversing the treatment's effects.

Alcohol consumption may heighten the risk of bruising. For patients undergoing Fat Freeze, it is recommended to abstain from alcoholic beverages for at least one week before and one week after the procedure.

Engaging in physical activity and exercise is encouraged following Fat Freeze to enhance blood circulation and expedite the body's natural healing process. If you experience discomfort, pain, swelling, or bruising after the treatment, consider light exercises like walking and stretching. As the side effects subside, you can gradually resume a more vigorous exercise routine.

Essential Information for Your Laser Removal

Hair laser removal PrepCare (what to do before your appointment)

The area must be shaved 24 hours prior to your appointment.

• The closer the shave the better.
  

Bikini services, don’t shave the part where you want to keep the hair. No makeup/lotion/deodorant on the day of your appointment in the treatment area).

Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 3 days prior to your appointment (& and 3 days after). Do not use self-tanner or spray tan products for at least 2 weeks before your treatment to avoid potential injury. Avoid drinking more than 2 alcoholic beverages 24 hours before your treatment. Avoid waxing/threading/tweezing in the area for at least 4 weeks. Shaving is okay!

Post Care

Redness and bumps are normal. Immediately after your treatment, redness & and bumps at the treatment area are common; these may last up to 2 hours or longer. It is normal for the treated area to feel like a sunburn for a few hours. You should use a cold compress if the sensitivity continues. If there is any crusting, apply an antibiotic cream. Darker pigmented skin may have more discomfort than lighter skin & and may persist longer. Cleanse the area and treat it gently.

The treated area may be washed gently with a mild soap. Skin should be patted dry & and not rubbed during the first 48 hours. No makeup & and lotion/moisturizer/deodorant for the first 24 hours.

Keep the treated area clean & and dry, if further redness or irritation persists, skip your makeup & moisturizer, & and deodorant (for underarms) until the irritation has subsided. Dead hairs will begin to shed 5-30 days after your treatment. Stubble, representing dead hair being shed from the hair follicle, will appear within 5-30 days from the treatment date. that is normal & and they will fall out quickly. Exfoliate to speed up hair shedding.

Anywhere from 5-30 days after the treatment, shedding of the hair may occur & and this may appear as new hair growth. It is not new hair growth, but dead hair pushing its way out of the follicle. You can help the hair come out by washing with a washcloth and shaving. Avoid the sun. Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of dark or light spots for 2 months. Use sunscreen (spf 25 or higher) at all times throughout the treatment period & and for 1-2 months following.

Do not pick/scratch/wax/thread/tweeze the area. Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. do not use any other hair removal methods or products, other than shaving, on the treated area during the course of your laser treatments, as it will prevent you from achieving the best results.

Hair growth varies. On average, most will experience a level of hairless happiness after 6-9 sessions which will result in not even checking for stubble (yes, it’s life-changing!).

• Results Guarantee: We cannot guarantee specific results if the scheduled sessions are not attended as per your program. It is essential to follow our instructions and disclose any relevant medical conditions. Results cannot be guaranteed if the client does not maintain a healthy lifestyle.
• Refund Policy: We uphold a strict no-refunds policy. However, services can be exchanged for other services or gifted to another individual.
• Deposit Policy: All deposit payments are required upfront. Bookings will only be scheduled and confirmed upon receipt of the deposit.
• Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the appointment, along with the associated costs. No refunds will be issued for forfeited appointments.
• Late Arrival: If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, the appointment will be canceled with no exceptions, and no refunds will be provided.
• Package Forfeiture: If six consecutive sessions are forfeited, the remainder of the package will also be forfeited. No refunds will be issued for packages forfeited under this condition.
• Package Duration: Your invoice will specify the duration of your package, and packages cannot be put on hold. Services may only be exchanged for other services.
• Hygiene Policy: For hygienic purposes, we have a strict "No Underwear - No Treatment" policy. Proper attire, including underwear, is mandatory.
• Photography and Videography: Taking photos and/or videos in our salon, including of our equipment, products, and staff, is strictly prohibited. Clients caught doing so may have their bookings and packages canceled, with no refunds provided.
• Conduct in the Salon: We reserve the right to ask anyone who is causing offense or disturbance to other clients, the owner, therapists, or staff to leave the premises.
• Right of Admission and Return: We reserve the right to refuse entry and service to any person.
• Clients' Health: At Black Jasmine Studio, the health and well-being of our clients and staff are of utmost importance. We kindly request that if you are feeling unwell, are experiencing any symptoms of illness, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for a contagious condition, you refrain from visiting our facility for treatment. Your safety and the safety of others are our top priorities. We are more than happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date when you are feeling better and no longer at risk of spreading illness.
